BBYO

The B’nai Brith Youth Organization; BBYO, is a youth led organization.  It is a group where teens grades 8 - 12 can meet other Jewish teens, make life-long friends, find their Jewish identity, and acquire many leadership skills.

Newark BBYO hosts several different programs and meetings per year.  We participate in bowling, skating, pool parties, and different community service activities.  Newark is part of Central Region East; CRE.  CRE includes 12  chapters that range from Binghamton, NY, to Delaware.  There are conventions for the region held approximately six times a year.

BBYO is an amazing, once in a life time experience.  Our adult advisors are Alex Resch and Allison Rudolph.  Their emails are as follows:

Teen Connection

Advisors:

  • Shana Mattes
  • Marla Friedman

Teen Connection is a group of 7th and 8th grade Jewish youth that get together for structured social activities. The group meets monthly and is led by Marla Friedman and UDel student Shana Mattes. Examples of activities are ice skating, Christiana Mall scavenger hunt, and laser tag. Permission slips are mandatory and must be sent in the Tuesday before the event so that we can provide transportation for everyone. Teens and their families are responsible for their lunch and activity fees.

Rock Climbing Teen Connection Trip - Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 11:45 AM - 4:00 PM. See details on the permission slip.
