Rav Lulav Lieberman

Rabbi Jacob

Rav Lulav Jacob Lieberman has served Temple Beth El since 2017. Rav Lulav is passionate about the power of Jewish wisdom and practice to transform individuals and the community. Far from mundane, the choices we make have the ability to create and destroy worlds and lives. So let’s build for good, she says! To do this, Rav Lulav works to create a welcoming and inspiring Jewish community based on openness, understanding, learning and growth. She prefers to lead by living, teaching, empowering, and partnering in all arenas of Jewish life. Rav Lulav is passionate about caring for the environment and feeding the hungry, which she does simultaneously by growing food at her suburban homestead.

Prior to serving Temple Beth El, Rav Lulav served as Rabbi and spiritual leader of Reconstructionist Congregation Beth Israel in Ridgewood, NJ. She worked with college students at Hillel at Temple University and Swarthmore College. In her first careers, Rav Lulav spent over 8 years working full-time for economic and social justice in the labor and LGBTQ rights movements.
